Who Is Eligible for Aid & Attendance?
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Served at least 90 consecutive days of active military duty, with at least one full day during a recognized period of war.
- Be age 65 or older OR permanently disabled.
- Received a discharge status other than “dishonorable.”
Surviving spouses may be eligible if they were married to the veteran at the time of their passing and have not remarried. A financial assessment of income and assets (including savings, stocks, bonds, 401k, etc.) is part of the eligibility determination.
